Update 5/16/2008 We’ve updated our map with more recommended spectator locations provided by the Winterfest Organizers. Look for the light green polygons along the parade route which indicate approximate viewing areas.
Winter is a great time for boating - at least for those of us in Southern climes. One of the best ways to combine holiday spirit and boating is by participating in a Holiday Boat Parade. The Seminole Hard Rock - Winterfest Boat Parade, held in Fort Lauderdale Florida, is one of the nations largest - both in terms of participating vessels and in terms of viewer turn-out. For official parade information, please visit the Winterfest Website. Read on for the Google Earth route and event map and video preview.

We’ve put together a bird’s eye view of the Parade Route using Google Earth. We’ve marked the key anchoring areas and viewing locations.
This year’s parade will be held on December 13th starting at 6:30pm in the New River and Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway of Ft Lauderdale. If you plan to participate by boat, you must register prior to the December 8th Captains’ meeting. To watch by boat, make sure you anchor up in one of the recommended areas prior to 4:00pm to avoid shutdowns of the ICW and New Rivers. There are multiple areas available for land viewing. Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is one of the prime locations - featuring both open ($2 per person) and reserved seating. The park will be closed to motorized traffic so catch a shuttle bus from Holiday Park off Sunrise Ave.
