I don't have a Nuvi so I'm not sure if they support an 'erase all' method.

On the GPSMAP Garmin series, if you recopy a waypoint with the exact same name as one in memory, it will overwrite the old one. This allowed for fairly easy updates.

You could try this with a couple of waypoint in Google Earth to see what the Nuvi does.

Thanks for helping.
However, I'm not sure to understand well. I have a Garmin Nüvi 250W. I don't find where to "push menu twice". Maybe then it depends on the version of Garmin unit.
The waypoints that I have transferred with TakItWithMe have all been placed in my "favorites", and their corresponding names well appear on the map.
I haven't found a way to delete waypoints, except one at the time.

My other question is also, if I update either a "Mymaps" set of waypoints or a "Google Earth" set of waypoints, will this update the set of waypoints already put on my GPS, that is add the new waypoints to the existing set, or will it put a second copy of each waypoint already on my GPS? I haven't dared experimenting it, due to the fact that, in any event, I would have to erase all waypoint one by one!...

You can delete routes from the Garmin Route menu (push menu twice and the select routes on many Garmin units).

Waypoints can be deleted from your waypoint menu in the same way.

Both menus should also give you an option to delete all routes if desired.

Having trouble with TakItWithMe? Here are a few of the most common problems:

1. Attempting to send Google Driving Directions to the map instead of a Google My Map
- We would love to support driving directions, but cannot due to Google's Terms of Service.
- Confirm you have a My Map Link by looking for &msid followed by a lot of numbers and letters in the Google link URL

2. Attempting to load incompatible Google Earth KML/KMZ files
- Our KML/KMZ support is limited and inconsistent for Google Maps (this is a Google issue and not a TakItWithMe issue)
- KMZ files (which are KML files compressed in a zip folder) may load, but they will not convert properly to GPS at this time
- For a more surefire way to send Google Earth Content to GPS, please use the TakItWithMe GE to GPS Utility.

To make the tour even better, you can adjust your Google Earth tour settings in 'Tools - Options - Touring'. Speed up or slow down the panning and set how long to pause at each placemark. To see the info windows with lock pictures at each stop - click on 'Show Balloon When Tour is Pause'. This is a great way to view many Google Earth files.

Playing the KML version. When you select the MyMaps Link in Virgil's original post , select KML in the upper right corner of the map and then "Open". That will open the file in Google Earth under "My Places" and from there select the Play Tour button for a Google Earth version of the map. Note, the resolution of the underlying terrain is spotty but should still serve the purpose of illustrating GE's immersive qualities.
