America’s Great Loop Cruisers’ Association ‘Looper Locater’
The America’s Great Loop Cruisers’ Association (AGLCA) mission is to disseminate information and enhance the overall experience for those learning about, dreaming of – as well as exploring and safely cruising — America’s Great Loop. The Great Loop, also known as the Great Circle Route and is considered one of the safest long distance cruising routes in the world.
As a direct service to it’s members, AGLCA commissioned EarthNC to develop and maintain their ‘Looper Locater’ service. The Looper Locater combines EarthNC Google Earth charting and weather (both Online and ‘Plus’ offline versions) with a members-only boat tracking, member home directory, and sponsor map layers. AGLCA members can update their boat position via a simple online interface and view boat locations, cruising notes, and contact information for other members. Many additional features are in development.
Take the hassle out of booking your dockage by using MarinaLife’s reliable online or toll free marina reservation service. Marinalife offers extensive marina information with boater reviews/ratings, reputable destination guides and much more. MarinaLife now features EarthNC Google Earth charting and a special MarinaLife Marina’s map that includes over 5000 Marina locations viewable inline with EarthNC Nautical Charts. Basic online charting is available to all MarinaLife members, while Diamond and Platinum members receive complimentary access to EarthNC ‘Lite’ full, online marine charts including depths contours and soundings.
TheBoaters.com is an online community for boat owners, crew, and boating enthusiasts to share their love of boats, the water, and their favorite destinations and activities. EarthNC nautical data is used in theBoaters.com ‘Explore’ feature to display buoys, markers, and lights on Google Maps along with user-submitted places. While our primary focus is on nautical data and applications, EarthNC specialties in Google Earth KML design, Google Maps, spatial databases, and data format conversions are applicable to most online mapping applications.
