Hi,

I am very interested in your product and will be using it to aid in fishing over several banks between Newport Harbor and San Clemente Island. These include the 14 mile bank (33° 23.92′ / 118° 00.20′), the 277 Fathom Spot (33.11.90 / 118.04.72), and the 152 Fathom Spot (33° 15.70′ / 118° 11.06′). Can you show me a detailed screen shot of one of these areas so that I can see how detailed the countour lines / depth soundings are? Also, I have a garmin GPS18 USB gps device that I use with my laptop. Is this compatible with your software and will it work with google earth to help us in chartplotting to find these fishing spots?

Click HERE for a screen shot showing the 14 mile bank. This is the most detailed of the 3 locations you provided. Our depth soundings and contours are derived from the official NOAA navigation charts so they should be equivalent to other standard chart products.

The Garmin18 does not natively support the NMEA data format. To use the Garmin18 with GooPs Pro GPS to Google Earth software, you would need to also run GPSGate Express (~$10 from Franson.com) which converts the Garmin USB format to NMEA.
