I have Google Earth 4.2.0205.5730. I am interested in see depth (Bathymetry) data in Google Earth, but when I click the Bathymetry link under “Online Map Categories” I get:
“NOAA Bathymetry Charts for Google Earth
Shaded NOAA Bathymetry layers for Google Earth are available with EarthNC Online(registration required)”……but there is no further link or indication on how to download that layer??
Sean,
The shaded NOAA Bathymetry layer is contained in EarthNC Online which you can reach when logged in.
From the online page, load the EarthNC Online master link in Google Earth. In the ‘Charts and Maps’ folder EarthNC Online Index in the Places Menu you’ll find a checkbox to turn on the Bathymetry. This will load little NOAA icons on the map in regions with the depth images. To load a depth image, click on the NOAA icon and then the View Image link about half-way down the resulting window.
Full depth information is also contained in the EarthNC Plus and EarthNC Raster chart products. You can try an example of a full EarthNC Plus with this link
