Department of Defense
A number of our projects focused on the conversion of significant amounts of legacy geo-data into “Google Maps friendly” formats, including:
- Google Earth visualization of satellite scans for specific geographical regions the DOD.
- Converting and optimizing the entire database of boating ramp information for the State of Florida.
- Historical flight path vizualizations for the FAA.
National Geographic
National Geographic contracted with EarthNC to develop an integrated geo-located question and answer system to support the launch of “Geography Awareness Week”.
Within a few weeks National Geographic was able to provide geographically contextual tour and story lines to support the geography game on the main web-site. EarthNC has been providing yearly updates for each version of the game since its inception. Highlighted project deliverables include:
- The development of a query / response system triggering “next steps” in the game progression
- Google Earth point of interest icon design and implementation
- Database design and implementation for high-performance experience for world-wide audience.
US Census Bureau 2010
In March 2010, more than 130 million addresses received 2010 Census form by mail or hand delivery. EarthNC partnered with the U.S. Census Bureau to provide a demographic map showing real-time submissions of the Census surveys. This map was provided rich graphical background to news stories covering this important process and help convey the changes in our nation since the last decennial census in 2000, and tell us how we’ve evolved as a country.
